Our community outreach continues to be tied intimately to food distribution. Similar to Thanksgiving, we will be celebrating Christmas with the families we are supporting on an ongoing basis.
Sunday December 20 we aspire to serve all 270 families with:
A box of food per household including produce, staples, and chicken
Small Christmas gift bags for the children in these families including candy, treats, little gifts.
A gift card per child for children not already sponsored through an outside entity. The amount will depend on the funds we can give.
We are now collecting monetary offerings to support this effort. Contributions can be made to the Rosemont fund but will be shared between children of all our partners Forest Oak, Summit Hall, Rosemont, Ana A Brito Foundation, and Mujer Fuerza y Coraje. Please consider supporting families during this very hard Christmas time. We estimate we need as much as $10,000 to supply these 500+ children.
For those interested, we have identified 19 families who have very deep need. Please click the button below to sponsor one of these families with food, a gift or for each child/youth and a token treat for the adult(s). These gifts will be distributed the week of December 14
It’s time to order poinsettias to decorate our sanctuary for Christmas. You may request red or white in honor or memory of someone.
Plants must be ordered no later than Sunday, November 29.
Payment may be made by clicking the collection plate above and selecting Flowers or mailing a check to the church.
Continuing Food Distribution into 2021
We continue to be grateful for the Lord’s Table who shares all expenses with us, Montgomery County who provides fresh produce, Manna Food recovery for food from local farms, and a Manna Food grant to support staple canned goods. Our primary expenses are boxes and weekly portions of fresh chicken, breakfast cereals, Maseca/flour and oil.
We intend to continue food distribution into 2021 and are grateful for your generous gifts to the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund which sustains this outreach.
