What do we offer?

In partnership with the Ana A. Brito Foundation, Epworth UMC offers English as a Second Language classes from the basic to the fourth levels including an additional Pronunciation and Conversation class for Intermediate students.

Knowledge of the English language is important for non-English speaking immigrant persons. By learning the USA culture and language, immigrant families will be able to be part of the communities where they live, find jobs, educate their children, and make their own contribution to our society.

Date and Time

English classes for Intermediate students are offered on Mondays from 10 to 11:30 am.

English classes from the Basic to the 4th level including an additional Pronunciation and Conversation class are offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.

Students with children are invited to bring their children for our Children’s Enrichment Program offered during the English classes.

Classes run September through May and follow the Montgomery County School calendar. When school is cancelled, classes are also cancelled.

How to Register?

Registration for Fall classes is over but you can still participate. Please arrive at 4pm on Tuesdays or Wednesdays to register. A test will be given and you will be placed into one of the classes based on your current level.
