Rev. Jennifer Fenner
Rev. Jen Fenner has served as Lead Pastor for Epworth since 2010. She is originally from Fremont Michigan and grew up in Howard County Maryland. She is a graduate of Oberlin College and Drew Theological Seminary. After college she served as a Mission Intern through the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church, assigned first to the Protestant Council of Churches (CEPAD) in Nicaragua and then to the Seminar Program of the Church center for the United Nations in NYC.
Pastor Jen credits the church with giving her the opportunity to become bilingual – bi-cultural English/Spanish, a skill she is able to use richly in ministry here at Epworth. She is married to Edgard Tellez (from Managua Nicaragua) and together they have 2 children currently a part of the Montgomery County Public School System. Pastor Jen enjoys family trips to the Western part of the United States, being outside, collecting antique colored glass, and quiet opportunities to be with those who know her and still love her deeply. Her favorite bible story is Jacob wrestling with the angel of God as God redefines the power and responsibility of blessing.
Rev. Yolanda Pupo-Ortiz
Reverend Yolanda Pupo-Ortiz is Pastora Emerita at Epworth. Pastora Yolanda or Pastora as she is affectionately called, is a woman of deep wisdom, faith in God, and true love for the community. Originally from Cuba, Pastor Yolanda was Quaker before she became United Methodist. Her mother is from Puerto Rico.
Pastor Yolanda has served in many areas of the general United Methodist church and has been a United Methodist elder for over 30 years but her heart and her love are the people.
Linda started working with children during her middle school years. At the time, her neighbors would ask her to babysit, and she quickly became the neighborhood babysitter. Since then, her appreciation and love for children and child development grew into a true passion. She loves the ability children have to amaze those around them. She loves being a part of their growth and teaching as they discover the beauty of the Lord’s world and creation.
Linda has a degree in Human Education and Family Studies and Education Psychology. She has 10 years of experience working in the field of child development as a Child Development Specialist, Classroom Lead teacher, and now she is Epworth's Preschool Director.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
